Role

Lettering, exhibition graphics

Deliverables

Exhibition title wall, poster, leaflet

Brief

The City Archive was opening an exhibition about a century of street posters. The title needed to feel like the streets themselves, not like a museum label.

Approach

I pasted layers of old posters onto boards and tore them back by hand until letters started to appear underneath. The best pieces were photographed and scaled up for the title wall, the poster and the leaflet.

Result

The title wall became the most photographed spot in the show. The archive later added the torn boards to its own collection.
