Brief
Festival of Small Things is three days of tiny inventions, workshops and talks spread across one neighbourhood. It needed a visual that felt playful and hand-made, but could still be read from across a busy street.
Approach
I drew five rounded, slightly wobbly shapes that never quite sit still and paired them with one heavy grotesk. Every format, from posters to tickets and signage, reuses the same five shapes in new arrangements.
Result
Attendance grew by a third on the year before. The shapes worked so well as markers that they became the festival’s wayfinding, guiding visitors between venues.
