Brief
A hotel lobby wall that guests see first when they arrive and last when they leave, seven metres long and three high. The hotel wanted something calm that still felt like the city.
Approach
I drew soft, rolling lines in the turquoise and blue of the river outside and tested them at small scale first. The final mural was painted by hand on site, so it reads from across the lobby and up close.
Result
The mural now appears in most guest photos tagged at the hotel. It has also become the backdrop for the hotel’s own campaigns.
